The complete blade guide kit ready to install on your machine. Includes: Top guides, bottom guides and a new guard made from powder coated steel that fits around the new guides.
Regarding this retrofit kit – the key point here with new guides is you will no longer be able to run the original 3″ wide Hitachi band on the bandsaw. We recommend to run a 27mm Carbide Tipped band on the machine, 1.25 TPI or similar. Vesper Tools can supply suitable blades. The smaller band will perform better than the original blades and give much longer blade life. The new band will run on the center of the lightly crowned wheels.
When installing the new guides the lower guide unit is very simple.
The upper guide installation requires more care in alignment for preventing the blade being held in twist by the new guides. A simple instructions and principles of bandsaw setup is included with the guides. We can also help talk you through that over the phone if there are any issues. It may take 30 minutes to install the complete kit. Though once it’s installed correctly the first time there will be no need to mess with the alignment setup again.
