My matched set of sliding bevels has arrived, and they are even more beautiful to use than they are to look at.
Really impressed and pleasantly surprised.
They are really solid – that is some piece of brass. And the heavier gauge steel in the bevel is another pleasant surprise. As are the perfect width dimensions of the slides and the internal slots.

My lace sheoak, 7” try square arrived today and I have to say this is an absolutely gorgeous tool. Frankly, it’s exceeded my expectations. The quality of the manufacturing is evident in every detail. The lace sheoak is far more beautiful than depicted on your web site; not nearly as dark as the picture implied. Although I’ve already used the try square to layout some tenons on a white oak table I’m building (within minutes of delivery), I’m almost afraid to store it with my other layout tools. I’m considering storing it in it’s box to prevent any accidental damage. Magnificent job, Chris! Thank you.

Sliding Bevels – Aircraft Aluminum

With a precision machined Aluminium body, the best locking mechanism available in the world, an unbreakable hardened and ground Stainless Steel blade.  They are completely flush locking with no protruding parts or mechanism.

These bevels are identical in design and function to other types but the body is made from 7075 Aircraft Grade aluminium making for a bevel that weighs in a just under half of its brass body equivalent. 
Held together by the same stainless steel screws and with its standard hardened and precision ground Stainless Steel blade with a special Aluminium knurled locking knob.

 7" or 10" blade only.  The Aly bevels were conceived due to the heft of the larger brass bevels being too much in some uses.  But the 4" brass bevel is so lightweight regardless its not been an issue in use. 

Good for chairmaking, building work, carry them about in your pocket all day while you are working.
