My lace sheoak, 7” try square arrived today and I have to say this is an absolutely gorgeous tool. Frankly, it’s exceeded my expectations. The quality of the manufacturing is evident in every detail. The lace sheoak is far more beautiful than depicted on your web site; not nearly as dark as the picture implied. Although I’ve already used the try square to layout some tenons on a white oak table I’m building (within minutes of delivery), I’m almost afraid to store it with my other layout tools. I’m considering storing it in it’s box to prevent any accidental damage. Magnificent job, Chris! Thank you.

Hi Chris: I attended the Handworks Event this past week in Amana and bought 2 of your sliding bevels (4″ boxwood and 7″ Blackwood). The workmanship is amazing! My matched set of sliding bevels has arrived, and they are even more beautiful to use than they are to look at.
Really impressed and pleasantly surprised.
They are really solid – that is some piece of brass. And the heavier gauge steel in the bevel is another pleasant surprise. As are the perfect width dimensions of the slides and the internal slots.

Straight Carving Knives

This great little range of straight whittling knives complement the curved spoon carving knives very nicely. 

Hand made by a small family business in Slovakia, using German Bohler tool steel for the blades with Hornbeam handles made inhouse these knives are very nice to use. 

Suitable for hand whittling work, spoon carving, woodcarving, letter cut, print making with lino or woodcut engravings.

If you are starting out with this wonderful hobby and are unsure which one to get we recommend the #2 and #6 (or the #4) as a great starter set of two knives.  Logic being one has a straight cutting edge and the other is curved allowing different uses. 

Very sharp and ready to use straight out of the packet, you can maintain the edge with fine slipstones/razor hones and a strop.
