Description
Made in Melbourne from 3.2mm dia spring steel wire.
Replace the broken torsion spring on your ‘Mutton Chop’ style swinging guards on jointers of all sizes. They have been installed on anything from a 24″ wide jointer down to a 6″ wide machine. They will most likely fit older machines with the bracket and mutton chop style guard as shown in the pictures below:
If your machine is missing a guard altogether there are options:
We are now offering Plans/Dimensioned drawings for $35. These plans give the info required to help someone make their own guard. The mounting bracket and swing arm that utilise this spring perfectly. Someone competent with a metal lathe and a welder will get it done in fairly short order.
The other option: If you wish for Vesper Tools to supply a kit of all the metal parts made then please inquire, sometimes I will have some pre-made and in stock ready to ship. Cost for that is approx $430 AUD plus shipping, to be confirmed on consultation. Sometimes special accommodation needs to be made to fit it onto a machine. You will need to provide some basic dimensions so we can make it to suit. You would then have to fit it to your machine with two M10 bolts, you may need to drill and tap the holes, then you make and fit all the wooden component of the guard.
