Precision Double Squares

These extremely popular and finely made Double Squares are loved by all who own one.  When used for woodworking this simple and beautifully manufactured square with its blade kit will open up a higher level of work and convenience.  Primarily used for dovetail or general joint cutting work for checking squareness, depth, bottoms of slots or mortises or half blind dovetails, or indeed machinery setup. 

But useful for so many other things around the workshop like setting up machines, setting hand tools, checking other squares the Vesper Double Square will most likely find a home in your pocket so its there in an instant as required. 

Available in Inch or Metric blade lengths with laser marked (all done in house for quality) blades to suit. 

The square bodies and the blades are completely made of 400 series SS and hardened to HRC 50-52 and are incredibly hardy in use.  This use of hardened and precision ground stainless steel throughout is a world first we believe. 

They have an anti rotation mechanism to prevent the center pin turning out of place when changing blades.  The locking pin is also spring loaded to hold the blades still whilst the lock nut is loose.  The center pin can be pushed out and rotated 180 deg if you wish to have the ruler marking on the reverse side of the square.

We cannot emphasize the word PRECISION enough here.  All blade ends are precision ground square, and the bodies are ground on all 7 faces meaning even the little 45 Deg miter on the body there can be trusted to the utmost.  After careful surface grinding all edges are deburred and softened by hand, no mass finishing for these as the hand method is the only way to maintain quality. 

Blade widths are:
14mm wide for the main blade. 
4mm wide for the small blade.
2mm  x 30mm long Mini Blade notched into a 4mm wide blade.
14mm wide for the 150mm/6" blades. 

Known traditionally as a tool and die maker's square.  In the early 2000's Robert Howard a Brisbane based woodworking teacher and artisan showed me the propriety version he'd been using for helping make beautiful dovetail joints and suggested Vesper Tools could make these.  This was early days for Vesper Tools and the double squares are now in their 6th generation of improvements and absolutely impossible to beat for value, quality and accuracy.
