My lace sheoak, 7” try square arrived today and I have to say this is an absolutely gorgeous tool. Frankly, it’s exceeded my expectations. The quality of the manufacturing is evident in every detail. The lace sheoak is far more beautiful than depicted on your web site; not nearly as dark as the picture implied. Although I’ve already used the try square to layout some tenons on a white oak table I’m building (within minutes of delivery), I’m almost afraid to store it with my other layout tools. I’m considering storing it in it’s box to prevent any accidental damage. Magnificent job, Chris! Thank you.

My matched set of sliding bevels has arrived, and they are even more beautiful to use than they are to look at.
Really impressed and pleasantly surprised.
They are really solid – that is some piece of brass. And the heavier gauge steel in the bevel is another pleasant surprise. As are the perfect width dimensions of the slides and the internal slots.

Sliding Bevels – Brass Body

Identical in function and design to the infilled bevels, these brass only versions have two major points of difference.  The tactile brass scallop design is nice to hold in the hand though it doesn't have the warmth of timber infills.  The other difference is price, if you are really stretching to purchase a Vesper Bevel then you should consider a brass only bevel.  The difference in cost is directly related to the extra work involved in producing the infilled version. 

The 4" bevel excels in cabinetry work, dovetail marking, and is even useful on boat building, and it fits in your pocket so nicely.
7" is the good all rounder and most popular size. If you are unsure which size to get, get this one.
10" is the big beast! For furniture, stairs, roofing, building works etc.

With a precision machined solid brass body, the best locking mechanism available in the world, an unbreakable hardened and ground Stainless Steel blade.  These bevels are completely flush locking with no protruding parts or mechanism.

They have perfect balance in the hand and ability to lay them down flat on either face to easily take an angle off a drawing for instance.
