Spoon Carving Knives

The best quality and best value spoon hollowing knives you can get.  These complement the straight bladed whittling knives very nicely.

Available with a 20mm curve, 35mm curve or 50mm curve in either left or right handed pull cut. 

Made by hand by a small family business in Kosicé, Slovakia, using German tool steel for the blades with locally cut Hornbeam handles made inhouse these knives are very nice to use.

The distinction between Left and Right hand here is the Right hand knives are held right handed and pulled towards you.  If you prefer to work right handed but want push away to cut then you should order the Left Handed knife.  Indeed some people get both. 

If you are starting out with the addictive hobby of spoon carving and are unsure which one to get we recommend the 35mm curve as a good general purpose curve. 

The 20mm curve is good for teaspoons and similar small spoon bowls. 
35mm curve is a good general purpose knife. 
The 50mm curve is more for flatter or shallow ladle bowls, stirring spoons or perhaps a larger soup ladle for instance. 

Very sharp and ready to use straight out of the packet, you can maintain the edge with fine slipstones/razor hones and a strop for the outside cutting bevel.  For the inside curve some #2000 grit sandpaper on a wooden rod of appropriate size for the internal diameter.  Or the same wooden rod with a little Autosol on the stick as a stop, and even better some fine leather wrapped around the stick with the Autosol in that as an even better strop.
